RAW Book Review: The Code of the Extraordinary Mind

The Real African|| By Dumani Mandela

The Code of the Extraordinary Mind by Vishen Lakhiani comes highly recommended for those who want to master the art of self-fulfillment and self-mastery.

Vishen Lakhiani

The book starts from the perspective that most of what we know about ourselves is through socialization and we can alter that state of socialization for self-fulfillment. The book puts forward the view that we learn about ourselves through socialization from religion to what kind of employment is right for us.

The book asks the reader to try and develop their authentic self through learning different rules about how to really fulfill our life’s ambitions. Throughout the book, you will find transformative insights drawn from questions that Lakhiani has personally posed to personalities such as Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Peter Diamandis, Arianna Huffington and other legendary thinkers, leaders and spiritual thinkers. Lakhiani presents ten laws that will empower you with:

  • Powerful exercises and methods designed to retrain your mind.
  • Unique models like consciousness engineering to help grow at speeds like never before.
  • The skills to bend reality and live a disciplined life.
  • The ability to desire to make a dent in the universe.

Once you have learned the code you will question your limits and realize that there are none. Your understanding of the world around you will also change and find yourself operating in a new extraordinary way. Personally, in my life, I have been somewhat motivated to stay away from books about how to achieve your dreams because they seldom bring about the results we are looking for. But Lakhiani does something different in this book. Like Martin Seligman in his book

Like Martin Seligman in his book Flourish (a new understanding of happiness and well-being and how to achieve them), he makes the content simple and palatable with daily exercises that the reader can perform with every rule he recommends in the book.

There are no groundbreaking discoveries in this book that you will not learn in your own life journey, but what it does well is contextualizing some of the social challenges we face in trying to achieve our dreams. This book comes highly recommended. It is simple and authentic, and the reader will pick out at least one aspect of the book that resonates with them through all of the information that is prescribed.
